SANTA CLARITA VALLEY : Northlake Plan Closer to Reality
- Share via
Northlake, a proposed planned community of 3,623 houses on more than 1,300 acres near Castaic Lake in the Santa Clarita Valley, moved a step forward Wednesday when the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission recommended that the developer’s Specific Plan and zoning changes be submitted to the Board of Supervisors.
The commission, after a public hearing, approved Cook Ranch Associates’ proposals for single- and multifamily houses, commercial and industrial buildings and public and recreational facilities, including a golf course, officials said.
However, the commission postponed until Nov. 23 a hearing on a development agreement with Los Angeles County about infrastructure improvements and a conditional-use permit.
The development has been proposed for a tract east of the Golden State Freeway and north of Lake Hughes Road.
