STATWATCH : Hart’s Charles a Big-Play Threat

Versatile Hart High tailback Deriek Charles has been a game-breaker this season. Charles, who has 13 touchdowns, has four touchdown receptions of 90 yards or longer. He also has a 67-yard touchdown run.

Offense: Hart quarterback Davis Delmatoff has thrown at least four touchdown passes in six of eight games. . . . Ventura running back Devon Passno, ho has rushed for 1,146 yards in 110 carries, has nine rushing touchdowns and is averaging 50.3 yards on each touchdown run. He averages 10.4 yards a carry.

Rio Mesa quarterback Don DiDomizio’s seven-yard touchdown pass that proved to be the game-winning score in a 35-34 Channel League win over Santa Barbara was DiDomizio’s first scoring pass of the season.

DiDomizio has passed for only 240 yards but he leads the Spartans in rushing with 878 yards and nine touchdowns in 92 carries.
