NEA Post: Ana Steele, director of program coordination for the National Endowment for the Arts, will step in today as acting chairwoman of the agency “until further notice,” it was announced Tuesday. Anne-Imelda Radice, who was appointed acting chairwoman of the NEA after the forced resignation of John E. Frohnmayer last February, resigned her post Tuesday. Steele has been with the endowment since the 1960s. The Clinton Administration is expected to name a permanent nominee for the post perhaps as soon as this week.
