I’m afraid for many students the use of Norplant would signal a green light for sex. So while Norplant may be effective against pregnancy, it would open unwanted doors concerning diseases such as AIDS, which is much graver than an unwanted pregnancy. But be that as it may, kids will have sex no matter what. So birth control should be available as well.
Unfortunately, (among boys), there still seems to be an attitude about birth control that it should all fall on the girls’ shoulders.
