PREP ROUNDUP : Capistrano Valley Girls Easily Beat Gahr in Top 20 Matchup

Angie White scored 32 points to lead Capistrano Valley to a 75-49 victory over Cerritos Gahr in a nonconference battle of state-ranked girls’ basketball teams Saturday night at Cerritos.
White also had 10 assists, and teammate Jennifer Garrett grabbed 14 rebounds for Capistrano Valley, 19-3 and ranked 13th in the state by Cal-Hi Sports. Gahr (19-5) entered the game ranked 17th.
In Sea View girls’ basketball:
Woodbridge 35, Tustin 25--Jamie Oenning had 17 points for Woodbridge (18-5, 11-1). Sarah Burgess had 14 rebounds for Tustin (9-13, 5-7).
Santa Margarita 69, Saddleback 48--Lesley Nolan scored 18 points for host Santa Margarita (8-12, 6-6). Nicole Wiora scored 21 points for Saddleback (3-18, 1-11).
In Express League boys’ basketball:
Heritage Christian 82, Bethel Baptist 44--John Zubas scored 17 points for Heritage Christian (15-1, 11-0). Bethel Baptist is 8-8, 5-6.
In Olympic League boys’ basketball:
Brethren Christian 68, Cerritos Valley Christian 41--Scott Thomas had 17 points for host Brethren Christian (16-7, 10-0). Lance Williams had 15 points for Valley Christian (5-15, 2-9).
Orange Lutheran 72, Calvary Chapel 67--Rod Sherman led Orange Lutheran (11-9, 6-4) with 16 points. Sabe Younger had 33 points for Calvary Chapel (8-14, 3-7).
Whittier Christian 68, Ontario Christian 53--Tyler Ream had 28 points and Jeff Rutter 24 for Whittier Christian (12-10, 7-4).
In Pacific Coast League girls’ soccer:
Laguna Beach 1, Costa Mesa 0--Sonia Ulvestad scored a first-half goal for visiting Laguna Beach (3-5 in league).
