For USC Film Grads: With an initial $1-million grant from Marcia Lucas Rodrigues, the USC School of Cinema-Television will set up a post-graduate workshop where recent graduates can make full-length feature films. The workshop will serve as “a bridge between film schools and the film industry,” says Rodrigues, ex-wife of filmmaker George Lucas. USC alumni will produce, write, direct and crew the first low-budget production this summer. Rodrigues recently gave the school another grant to fund a student-industry relations director who works as a liaison between graduates and the industry.
