Red Line Subway Debut
Announcing the latest taxpayer hobbling ball-and-chain, the Red Line subway, on the Editorial Page (“Subway Debut: Modest--Yet a Breakthrough,” Jan. 29) puts the politically motivated boondoggle in its true perspective. Lies and coercion are the “sales” tools used to promote this white elephant and create a multibillion-dollar bureaucracy that is not controlled by or directly responsible to the taxpayers it fleeces.
Armed guards are necessitated when this system “brings(s) different kinds of people together.” The Metrolink lines will drain the taxpayers of billions of dollars per year, resulting in the continued economic decline of Southern California.
