World IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON : No Increase in Aid to Russia Planned

The Clinton Administration has no intention of immediately increasing foreign aid to Russia and other former Soviet republics, The New York Times reported. The newspaper also said the Administration intends to create a supercommittee to shape a unified strategy toward Russia and the former republics. Strobe Talbott, a journalist and author who has written extensively about the Soviet Union, will head the committee.
