Two Shiny New Penneys: J.C. Penney will detail plans today to open department stores at Westminster and Brea malls. The stores are to fill spaces left vacant by the recently completed merger of the May Co. and Robinson’s department store chains.

When J.C. Penney opens at Westminster Mall late this year, it will close a store at Huntington Beach Mall in Huntington Beach. Employees will be transferred to the new location. Similarly, the new Brea location will incorporate the staff of a nearby J.C. Penney Catalog Sales Center that will be closed.
