Larry Toner, who led Servite to its first league football championship in five years, has been named to coach the North team in the 34th Orange County all-star football game Friday, July 9, at Orange Coast College.
Jeff Brinkley, who led Newport Harbor to its most successful season in 62 years, will coach the South team.
Toner, 53, has been a key in Servite’s successful football program. He was the school’s freshman coach from 1970-84 and has been the varsity coach since 1989.
Brinkley, 40, has led Newport Harbor to at least the Southern Section quarterfinals four consecutive seasons. He’s the winningest coach in the school’s history with a record of 51-31 in seven seasons.
