Switzerland’s Urs Lehmann won the men’s downhill in the World Alpine Ski Championships at Shizukuishi, Japan, beating Norway’s Atle Skaardal and American AJ Kitt.
Canada’s Kate Pace, wearing a cast to protect a broken wrist, won the women’s downhill.
