American and America West Holding Talks: American Airlines and America West Airlines said they have begun preliminary discussions about joint marketing and management services agreements. The talks between American and America West, which is operating under federal bankruptcy court protection, will explore linking the carriers’ frequent-flier programs as well as the coordination of some advertising and promotional efforts. Any agreement would require bankruptcy court approval.
