Schools Designated for Year-Round Schedule

After a year of debate and several reversals, the Inglewood School Board has finally designated two new middle schools and agreed on which elementary schools will be on year-round schedules.
The vote came Wednesday night, two weeks after the board agreed to exempt some schools from a year-round schedule because of strong protests by parents.
The elementary schools that received exemptions from the year-round schedule are Lane, La Tijera and Parent. Hudnall and Daniel Freeman elementary schools were also exempted by virtue of their small enrollments.
The other eight elementary schools--Bennett-Kew, Centinela, Highland, Kelso, Oak, Payne, Woodworth and Worthington--will be on year-round schedules beginning in July. Both the new middle schools, Monroe and Crozier, will also be on year-round schedules.
