Coach: Karen O’Bric (third year).
1992: Won Sunset League championship (8-0); Southern Section 3-A runner-up; Rotary Girls Relays division winner.
Key returners: Janna Evans, Sr., 1,600 (5:05), 3,200 (11:18); Julie Koudelka, Jr., 400 (57.46); Tami Letterman, So., 100 (12.49), 200 (26.2); Jennifer Craig, Jr., LJ (16-2), HJ (5-0); Jennifer Formosa, So., 1,600 (5:10), 3,200 (11:18); Jeannie Formosa, So., 1,600 (5:30), 3,200 (11:40).
Key newcomers: Elyse Homberger, So., 1,600, 3,200; Sonya Bryant, Fr., shotput, discus; Kelly Marshall, Fr., 200, 400; Kerry O’Bric, Fr., LJ, TJ, 300 hurdles; Marie Philman, Fr., HJ, discus, shotput, 100 hurdles.
Outlook: This is a rebuilding year, but O’Bric seems to have the foundation, the blocks and the mortar to repeat last year’s success. Letterman is the defending league champion in both events, and Koudelka won the Orange County title. The newcomers, though unproven, are talented: Homberger was sixth at the State cross-country meet; Bryant, Kerry O’Bric and Philman won medals at the AAU Junior Olympics; and Marshall won Southern California Municipal Championships in both events.
