COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Rancho Santiago Wins on Wild Pitch in 10th

Jason Minici scored on a wild pitch in the top of the 10th inning to give Rancho Santiago a 7-6 victory over Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Thursday at Saddleback College.
Minici, a freshman from Irvine, reached first on a passed ball after striking out, stole second and advanced to third on another wild pitch.
Steve Thobe had two hits for Rancho Santiago (13-3, 3-2). Nathan Malagon went three for five with three runs batted in, including a double in the ninth that tied the game, 6-6, for Saddleback (11-4, 3-3).
In another Orange Empire baseball game:
Orange Coast 10, Fullerton 9--Darin Dabalack (2-2) pitched seven strong innings of relief for the Pirates (10-6, 4-1), who moved into first place in the conference. OCC was paced by Paul McDaniels, who had run-scoring singles in the sixth and seventh innings.
