CASTAIC : 5 Inmates Injured During Fight at Jail

Five inmates suffered minor bruises and abrasions, and at least 50 inmates will be transferred to other facilities as the result of a fistfight between members of rival black gangs at the County Jail in Castaic, authorities said Monday.
Rod Weber, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said inmates at the Peter J. Pitchess Honor Rancho-South fought for about five minutes, beginning at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The fight ended when deputies arrived on the scene, he said.
