CANOGA PARK : 2 Bank Robbers Drop Dye Pack
- Share via
Gunmen who robbed a Canoga Park bank Monday apparently dropped a dye pack enclosed in a bundle of cash as they made their escape, police said.
Two men wearing ski masks and gloves entered the Home Federal Savings and Loan Assn. office in the 6600 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard about 10 a.m., Los Angeles Police Sgt. Brian Powell said.
One man carried a sawed-off shotgun and the other was armed with a revolver, witnesses told police. Telling patrons not to move, the robbers collected money from three tellers, authorities said.
The men then left the bank, jumped into a white van and drove south. A pack of red dye was later found on the escape route, Powell said.
No one was injured in the robbery. No arrests had been made, Powell said.
