PREP ROUNDUP : Troy’s Parmenter Pitches Two-Hitter, Stops Fullerton

Rick Parmenter pitched a two-hitter, giving up only an unearned run, as Troy defeated Fullerton, 4-1, in a Freeway League baseball game Monday at Fullerton.
Parmenter (3-0) struck out eight for visiting Troy (8-0, 3-0). James Hartford hit a two-run single to highlight a four-run fifth for the Warriors. Craig Freeman gave up no hits in the first four innings, but took the loss for Fullerton (1-7-1, 0-2-1).
In another Freeway League game:
La Habra 2, Buena Park 1 (8 innings)--Rusty Volkert’s two-out infield single scored Steve Busch for host La Habra (2-4-1, 1-1-1) in the eighth inning.
In the Garden Grove League:
Kennedy 10, Pacifica 6--Kenny Sundstrom homered and Jeff Westermann had two hits and two runs batted in for Kennedy (5-6, 1-1).
Rancho Alamitos 10, Bolsa Grande 4--Erin Winemiller had three RBIs, including a two-run home run, for Rancho Alamitos (7-0, 2-0).
In the Orange League:
Savanna 9, Magnolia 5--Jeremy Klemp had two hits and an RBI in his varsity debut for visiting Savanna.
Brea-Olinda 6, Western 6--Marc Anspach tied the score on an RBI single with two outs in the top of the seventh for visiting Brea-Olinda (6-2-1, 2-0-1), in game called because of darkness.
In Century League golf:
El Modena 164, Canyon 188--Brian Cherrett shot par 31 for host El Modena (5-4, 2-0) at Riverview.
In nonleague golf:
Los Alamitos 205, El Toro 223--Ben Garner shot a one-over 37 for El Toro and Darren Brown shot 38 for Los Alamitos at Old Ranch Country Club.
Marina 403, Tustin 463--Paul Ohshima shot par 36 at Tustin Ranch in the second half of an 18-hole match for Marina (5-1).
Valencia 393, La Quinta 454--Cody Neptune shot a one-under 35 at Mile Square in the second half an 18-hole match for Valencia (7-2).
In Sea View League softball:
Santa Margarita 11, Corona del Mar 0--Amy Fenelli pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts for visiting Santa Margarita.
In nonleague softball:
Villa Park 5, Sonora 4 (9 innings)--Jenny Boroughs opened the ninth with a single, stole second and scored on a double by Brandee McArthur for Villa Park.
