COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Pepperdine Avenges Loss to Chapman

Defending national baseball champion Pepperdine defeated Chapman, 9-2, Wednesday at Hart Park in Orange.
The Waves, ranked No. 11 by Collegiate Baseball, avenged a 3-2 loss to Chapman last month in Malibu by collecting 14 hits, including three home runs, off five Chapman pitchers.
Ryan Radmanovich, Jorge Paz and Rob Wells hit home runs for the Waves (21-10).
Chapman (16-16), which hit into three double plays, scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Rob Reimers had three hits for the Panthers.

In another nonconference baseball game:
UC San Diego 9, Christ College Irvine 5--Aaron Burke hit a three-run home run in UC San Diego’s (7-10) nine-run seventh inning. Barrett Bernard had a double for host CCI (8-15-2).

In California Collegiate Athletic Assn. softball:
Cal State Dominguez Hills 2-6, Chapman 0-3--Dominguez Hills (14-9-1, 5-5) scored four runs in the second inning of the second game and swept the Panthers.
