VAN NUYS : Students Win U.S. Computer Contest

A team of students at Van Nuys High School Math/Science Magnet has won the National Computer Science Competition against 40 other schools throughout the country, a contest official said.
The top 12 students with best scores on the March 11 test were named to the team, which tackled 25 multiple-choice questions about the BASIC computer language. The test was sent to secondary schools in Florida, Virginia, Texas, California and other states.
The winning students were Michael Mazur, 15; Daniel Wyckoff, 16; Arthur Jerijian, 17; and David Ho, Ben Young, Jennie Yoder, Vicken Bastajian, Wayne Yakura, Ted Young, Joshua Silverman, Tunc Yazici, and Kenneth Hsu, all 18.
