Trial Coverage: The Court TV cable network will have live coverage of today’s pretrial hearing, scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., for the men accused of beating trucker Reginald O. Denny during the outbreak of last spring’s civil unrest. The defense is expected to ask for a three-week postponement of the hearing on their request for a dismissal of the charges because of alleged discriminatory prosecution. If the postponement motion is denied, a hearing on the dismissal request is expected to begin Thursday and is also scheduled to be televised live. Court TV also plans live coverage of the trial, scheduled to begin Monday, with jury selection set to start April 14.
