In the other semifinal:
Diamond Bar 6, Santa Ana 5 (8 innings)--Diamond Bar rallied for five runs in the seventh to tie it, 5-5, and another in the eighth for the victory.
Santa Ana’s Sal Gomez hit a two-run home run in the fifth to give the Saints (3-10) a 5-0 lead. Santa Ana led, 5-1, with two outs and the bases loaded in the seventh before Chris Grosskopf hit a grand slam to tie it, 5-5.
Tom Fry had an RBI single in the eighth for Diamond Bar (12-1). Santa Ana got two runners on in the eighth but didn’t score.
Santa Ana will play Mission Viejo in the 10:30 a.m. third-place game at Rancho Santiago.
In the consolation round:
Foothill 11, Saddleback 6--David Trentine had two hits and four RBIs and Jeff Bailey had three hits and three RBIs for Foothill (7-6) at Hart Park. Craig Paisley pitched a complete game to earn the victory for Foothill, which will play Valencia in the 1:30 p.m fifth-place game at Santa Ana Valley.
Tony Zuniga had three hits and two RBIs for Saddleback (5-8).
Valencia 10, Laguna Hills 6--Luis Garcia hit a two-out grand slam in the sixth inning for Valencia (7-6).
Buena Park 12, Santa Monica 3--Jesus Lopez had two hits and three RBIs and Alfonso Flores (4-0) pitched a complete game for Buena Park (8-4) at Villa Park High. Buena Park will play Pacifica in the consolation final at 1:30 at Santa Ana High.
Pacifica 15, Orange 9--Jeff Depippo had two hits including a double for Pacifica (7-8). Josh Dean also had a three-run triple for Pacifica.
Cerritos Gahr 3, Santa Ana Valley 2--Martin Ortega was two for two with an RBI in a losing effort for Santa Ana Valley (5-8).
