Radio stations KORG (1190) in Anaheim and KXED (1540) in Los Angeles have reached an agreement to broadcast Angel games in Spanish this season, it was announced Thursday.
The deal was made with Golden West Broadcasters, the Gene Autry-owned company that includes KMPC, the Angels’ flagship station. KXED will broadcast the entire Angel schedule; KORG will pick up 100 games. Cos Villa will be the main play-by-play announcer.
“This being the largest Hispanic community in the United States, we feel it is important to our Spanish-speaking fans that the Angels’ games be offered on local stations, which are closely linked to the community and the ballclub,” said Stan Spero, vice president of sales for Golden West.
This will be the 14th season of Angel Spanish-language broadcasts.
