Meilen Denied Berth in Final

Top-seeded Meilen Tu of Northridge was soundly defeated by Diana Spadea of Boca Raton, Fla., 6-1, 6-1, Friday in a girls’ 16-year-old division semifinal of the Easter Bowl junior tennis championships in Miami.
Spadea, seeded third, will play No. 4 Janet Lee of Rancho Palos Verdes, who defeated second-seeded Dawn Buth of Wichita, Kan., 6-3, 6-4.
