Do Causes and Oscars Mix?

I would like to publicly thank Sarandon and Robbins for bringing the plight of my fellow Haitians at Guantanamo Bay to the attention of the Oscar audience.
I am appalled at the criticism of their remarks. When is it “appropriate” to talk about injustice? When is it “appropriate” to try to save lives?
Very personally, Sarandon and Robbins’ dignified, graceful and heartfelt statement before 1 billion people has helped me feel a little less lonely in this vital struggle for human life.
