Stimulus Package to Include Expanded Housing Loans: The Japanese government will include in its fiscal stimulus package a proposal to increase lending by government-run financial institutions to home buyers, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported. The government is expected to propose raising the maximum amount the institutions can lend to 1.5 trillion yen. The package is also likely to include a proposal that companies be allowed to buy back their own shares from the stock market.
