South County residents can get their first look at a new Santa Catalina Island shuttle cruise ship on Thursday at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony in Dana Point Harbor.
The unveiling of the SeaJet Cruise Ship, South County’s first Catalina shuttle service, is being sponsored by the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and costs $5 per person, which includes food supplied by a local restaurant and entertainment.
Free shuttle service to the ceremony, which will be held on the boat, is available at the Selva Road parking lot, Pacific Coast Highway and Selva Road.
Friday through May 31, the cruise ship will run from Wednesday to Sunday from the Dana Point Harbor to Avalon on Santa Catalina Island.
On June 1, the shuttle begins operating seven days a week through Sept. 30. Cost for a round-trip cruise will be $42.
