Jermaine Galloway, former All-County basketball player from Kennedy, said Tuesday he has left DePaul and will visit Pepperdine and the University of San Francisco this weekend. He has been released from his scholarship by DePaul and will redshirt next season.
He said he played in about half of the Blue Demons’ games as a freshman this past season, but had hoped to play a bigger role.
Galloway was a two-time player of the year in the Garden Grove League, playing center and leading Kennedy to a 40-2 record in his three varsity seasons. In 1992, Galloway’s senior season, Kennedy advanced to the Southern Section Division II-A championship game, losing to Trabuco Hills, 52-50, in the final.
