MELBOURNE, Australia — The leader of Victoria state celebrated a landslide election victory last year by selling commemorative bottles of wine from his office.
Now police say charges will be filed against him for not having a license to sell alcohol.
If convicted, Victoria state Premier Jeff Kennett could be sentenced to 12 months in prison and fined $3,500. He would not have to leave office if found guilty, but could be pressured to resign.
