‘Women and Power’: Images of women in the media will be on the agenda at a symposium today at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Noted author Betty Friedan will give the keynote speech at the “Women and Power--New Images and Realities” conference. Panelists who will discuss how women are perceived and what should be done to change perceptions include Academy Award-winning lyricist Marilyn Bergman, TV producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, Academy Award-winning screenwriter Callie Khouri, actor Susan Ruttan of “L.A. Law,” MTV Networks vice chairperson Geraldine Laybourne and The Times’ Associate Editor Narda Zacchino. The event, sponsored by Women in Cable and Women, Men and Media, is open to the public.
