38% Revenue Surge Hikes Alpharel Quarterly Profit

Alpharel Inc., a Camarillo-based supplier of document imaging systems, said its profit surged to $296,000 for the first quarter, up from $61,000 a year earlier, on a 38% increase in revenue.

Alpharel said revenue for the quarter ended March 31 increased to $1.89 million from $1.37 million a year earlier, mainly because of deliveries to new customers, including ARCO Alaska, Detroit Edison and General Electric.
