Michael Carbajal, who weathered knockdowns twice in winning his last title fight, will defend his World Boxing Council light-flyweight championship July 17 at Las Vegas against 1988 Olympic gold medalist Kim Kwang Sun of South Korea.

Also on the card at Caesars Palace will be a title defense by International Boxing Federation lightweight champion Fred Pendleton against former featherweight champion Jorge Paez and a scheduled 10-round fight between Oscar De La Hoya and veteran Narciso Valenzuela of Mexico.
