Litton Wins $19.5-Million Addition to Navy Pact

Litton Industries Inc. said its Woodland Hills-based guidance and control systems division has received a $19.5-million modification to an existing U.S. Navy contract to build an additional 74 navigation systems for carrier-based aircraft.
The systems will be produced at the division’s Salt Lake City plant. The award won’t affect planned layoffs at Woodland Hills, Litton said.
As earlier reported, the Beverly Hills-based defense concern expects to lay off 475 Woodland Hills employees by the beginning of 1995. The company has said it will transfer another 225 Woodland Hills workers to Salt Lake City.
