Tired of Subsidy

* In response to “Dissecting the Valley Vote” (Editorial, April 25), it’s my understanding that the San Fernando Valley already provides the city of Los Angeles with more than 50% of the city’s tax revenue (including revenue from L. A. Harbor and LAX) yet receives only 20% of the city’s services.
Presently, the valley has 1.1 police officers per 1,000 people, while the inner city has 2.2 per 1,000. Why should we pay for more police in the inner city?
Valley residents are sick and tired of subsidizing the rest of the city. We do not receive our fair share of any city service. Perhaps we should part from the city of L. A. altogether.
