Unocal Settles Tax Dispute With Alaska: The Los Angeles-based oil company announced that it has reached agreement with the state over disputes involving oil and gas income and production tax liabilities for 1978 through 1982. Unocal agreed to make a $69.8-million payment: $26.8 million in taxes and $43 million in interest. The company said its 1993 earnings will not be affected by the settlement.
