Toro Soccer Teams Play Cal Lutheran

The Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s and women’s soccer teams will play at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks on Saturday.
The women’s team, ranked seventh in NCAA Division II, will play at 10 a.m. The Toros have a 2-1 record. The men’s team (1-1) will play at noon.

A San Pedro and Peninsula swim team will stage tryouts Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Palos Verdes Intermediate School pool.
The team, the largest in the South Bay, has 130 swimmers ages 6 to 18. Workouts are conducted at Miraleste Intermediate, Palos Verdes Intermediate and the San Pedro YMCA five nights a week. Swimmers compete in up to 18 United States Swimming Assn. meets a year. Information: (310) 544-1289.
A league for junior bowlers begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Gardena’s Missile Bowl.
The league is for boys and girls ages 6 to 18. All equipment will be furnished and there is no cost. Information: (310) 323-9333.

The Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department will stage tryouts for a boys’ 14-and-under basketball club.
Tryouts are scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mira Costa High. South Bay teams will be formed in three age categories, which will compete against other leagues on Sundays in local high school gyms. The fee is $55.

A three-on-three over-the-line softball tournament sponsored by the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The tournament will be staged at the beach located north of 27th Street and the Strand. Four divisions will be offered: men’s open and novice, women’s and co-ed. The entry fee is $40 a team. Information: (310) 545-5621, Ext. 321.

The Torrance Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the Beach Cities Team Triathlon at Torrance Beach on Sunday.
The event will include a 1-K ocean swim, a 12-K bike ride and a 5-K run. The entry fee is $35 for individuals and $100 for teams. Each participant gets a T-shirt and box lunch. Winners will also receive awards. Information: (714) 548-4897.
