Burbank 28, Hoover 7--Dave Kemp’s debut as Bulldog coach was a success due to the efforts of Willie Perryman, who hauled in six passes for 147 yards and touchdowns of 16 and 66 yards, in addition to making two of six sacks on Hoover quarterback Alan Lau.
Lau, who was seven of 22 for 69 yards, had four passes intercepted, including two by Vaughn Lucas. Dan Cotti recorded three sacks for the Bulldogs.
Burbank also scored on running back Owen Myers’ one-yard run that was set up by Jason Parr’s 28-yard interception return.
Hoover’s Tony Hur scored on a four-yard run.
