Ft. Lauderdale’s Doe Gets Best of Playoff-Bound Salsa

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Zico Doe scored two goals for Ft. Lauderdale Sunday, leading the Strikers to a 2-1 victory over the Salsa.
The Salsa (12-12 with 109 points), which got its only goal Sunday from Dale Ervine at 71 minutes, finished the regular season in fourth place.
The first-year franchise will travel to Vancouver to meet the regular-season champion 86ers in the American Professional Soccer League semifinals next weekend.
Vancouver won the title after Colorado lost in overtime, 3-2, to the Toronto Blizzard. The defending champion Colorado Foxes will host Tampa Bay in the other semifinal.
The winners will meet for the APSL championship Oct. 2 in the city of the team with the best record.
