MOORPARK : Reward Offered in Assault at Theater

The Ventura County Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to $1,000 for information that helps identify three men who attacked a Moorpark theatergoer outside the Magnificent Moorpark Melodrama & Vaudeville Company.
The victim, a teacher at Hueneme Elementary School, was stretching his legs outside the theater about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 18, when he was attacked by three Latino men, who swore at him and called him a “gringo.”
As one of the men punched the victim in the head and neck, another stabbed him twice in the abdomen with a broken beer bottle. The man fell to the ground and all three assailants fled after taking turns kicking him.
The teacher was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The assailants were described as ages 14, 16 and 20, all wearing white T-shirts and dark pants. Their heights ranged from 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-10.
Anyone with information on the attack may call Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK. Callers who remain anonymous are still eligible for the reward, officials said.
