Shinnick Helps El Camino Real Blast Cleveland

RESEDA — Senior running back Chris Shinnick rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns in 19 carries to lead visiting El Camino Real High to a 38-6 victory over Cleveland in a Northwest Valley Conference game Friday night at Cleveland.
Shinnick had touchdown runs of 13, 14 and 52 yards as El Camino Real gained 331 yards on the ground. The Conquistadores (4-1, 2-0 in conference play) limited Cleveland (1-4, 0-2) to 68 yards in total offense.
Senior quarterback Ryan Venturine of El Camino Real threw only five passes but completed two for 115 yards to Michael Cooper, including a 59-yard scoring play.
Cleveland’s only score came on an 89-yard kickoff return by Eric Brown after El Camino Real took the opening kickoff and drove 69 yards, capped by Shinnick’s 14-yard touchdown run.
