In order to avoid and correct any misleading information in the article on Turkey that appeared in the Sept. 26 Travel Section (“Travel Advisory”), I would like to stress that terrorist incidents mentioned in your article are primarily concentrated in the border areas of the eastern part of Turkey, far from the tourist areas of the country.
Tourist areas in Turkey are at least as safe as other major tourist regions and cities of the world and continue to be the leading points of interest for a wide variety of foreign visitors.
