Evan Wilson to Replace Ailing Russian Violist

Evan Wilson, principal viola of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, will appear as soloist with that orchestra at its subscription concerts this week, replacing Russian violist Yuri Bashmet, who has withdrawn for medical reasons.
The programs at these performances--Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.--remain the same. Wilson will play the Viola Concerto by Bela Bartok.
