The victim, who was described as a North Hills resident in her 70s, was traveling west on Sherman Way about 12:15 p.m. when her car drifted across the center divider and collided with a vehicle, said Officer Clark Baker of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
The victim was taken to Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys where she was pronounced dead on arrival, Baker said.
The driver of the other car, who was identified as Martha Rivera of Encino, suffered neck and back injuries, Baker said.
