SHERMAN OAKS : D.A. to Address Crime Conference
- Share via
Crime in the San Fernando Valley will be the topic of a community meeting tonight in Sherman Oaks.
Los Angeles Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti is expected to report on the impact of budget cuts on his staff of prosecutors and to answer questions about the safety of the Valley.
Richard Close, president of the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Assn., said he invited Garcetti to speak because crime, gang and drug problems have become a major concern to Valley residents.
“The Valley is changing,” Close said. “No longer is it a quiet residential area of the city.”
The 8 p.m. meeting will be held at Union Federal Savings, 13300 Ventura Blvd., and is open to the public.
