Minority leadership awards: Fernando Torrez is the founder and president of Torrez Trucking Inc. in Anaheim. Sun Nam Chung presides over the Sun Trading Co., a silk printing business in Garden Grove. Diep Lan Vo owns three restaurants in Orange County. Mattie Jordan Gaye owns a State Farm Insurance agency in Garden Grove. Caleb Zia helped start the Grand National Bank in Santa Ana.
Despite their diverse fields, these people all have something in common: they will be honored this year at the annual Minority Business Leadership Awards dinner tonight.
Sponsored by the Orange County Minority Business Council, the awards are given to members of the Black, Chinese, Hispanic, Korean and Vietnamese chambers of commerce. Tickets for the event, which will take place at the Disneyland Hotel, are $45. For more information, call (714) 547-3730.
