PREP CROSS-COUNTRY ROUNDUP : Young, Harker Lead Pacifica to Tri-Meet Victories

The two Staceys, Stacey Young and Stacey Harker, ran in typical form for undefeated Pacifica, taking first and second in individual results of a tri-meet Thursday in the Garden Grove League.
The final scores were La Quinta 23-Los Amigos 32; Pacifica 18-Los Amigos 45; Pacifica 15-La Quinta 49.
Young covered the three-mile course at Mile Square Park in 20 minutes 59 seconds and Harker was five-tenths of a second behind her. Pacifica’s league record is 6-0. La Quinta is 2-3 and Los Amigos is 1-4.
In the Century League:
El Modena 24, Villa Park 33--El Modena (4-1), ranked eighth in the state, defeated Villa Park (1-4) at Irvine Park. The Vanguards were led by a three-way, first-place tie between Tara Whitfield, Katie Kennedy and Kaylee Whitfield, who ran the three-mile course in 19:11.
In the Freeway League:
Sonora 20, Sunny Hills 35--Demorese Falter finished first at 20:57 over three miles at Sunny Hills to lead Sonora.
In the Orange League:
Brea-Olinda 18, Savannah 45--Brea-Olinda (7-3, 4-0) remained undefeated in the Orange League as Kim Gomez led the Wildcats with a time of 23:10 at Craig Park.
In Garden Grove League boys’ cross-country:
Santiago 15, Rancho Alamitos 44--The Cavaliers remained undefeated as Ben Mejia finished in 15:54 to lead Santiago (5-0) in a sweep of Rancho Alamitos (4-1) at Mile Square Park.
In Freeway League boys’ cross-country:
Sunny Hills 27, Sonora 30--Garrett Jensen ran a time of 16:43 over three miles at Sunny Hills to lead the Lancers (2-2).
