COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Fullerton Shuts Out Irvine in Men’s Soccer

Ricky Rodriguez, Eddie Soto and J.B. McCormack scored goals as Cal State Fullerton defeated UC Irvine, 3-0, in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s soccer Friday at Fullerton.

Fullerton (11-5, 4-2) held Irvine (5-12, 0-6) to five shots.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

UCLA 1, Cal State Fullerton 0--UCLA’s Gina Dartt scored the only goal of the game early in the second half to give the Bruins the victory. It was the home finale for Cal State Fullerton, which finishes the regular season with four consecutive road games.

In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s volleyball:

Westmont 3, Southern California College 1--Genevie Wright had 16 kills and four aces for the Vanguards (10-12, 3-6) in the loss, 8-15, 7-15, 5-15.

In Big West Conference women’s volleyball:

Nevada 3, Cal State Fullerton 0--Jennifer Lipski had eight kills and Chelsea Wilhite 14 assists for Fullerton (1-20, 0-12), which lost, 15-5, 15-7, 15-12. Nevada is 11-8, 3-7.
