*** En Vogue, “Runaway Love,” EastWest. The funky side of the funky divas is showcased on this excellent EP, on such supercharged remixes as “Hip Hop Lover” and “What Is Love,” as well as on two new songs, “Whatta Man” and the title track. This time they nicely undercut their uppity glamour image, doing less cutesy cooing and delivering more hard-core, Emotions-style soul.
New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
