U.S. Vatican Envoy Seeks Lessons for His Therapist

BRAINTREE, Mass. — Vatican Ambassador Raymond L. Flynn wants the Pentagon to send someone from Italy to the United States to learn how to treat his neck problem.
The former Boston mayor was treated Thursday at Braintree Hospital for neck spasms. He wants a military medic sent to the hospital for two weeks of training in neck muscle manipulation.
Dr. Martin Dunn said that Flynn “can’t turn his neck to talk to people, he has to turn his entire body. He’s in pain all the time.”
Flynn’s problems began after he ducked to avoid a rock thrown during a melee at South Boston High School in May.
