In Japan they’re marketing a special deodorant for eliminating fishy smells. It’s based on an extract of turnips that is said to bind with the smelly substance produced by rotting fish.

Pizza-loving families can get a discount coupon during October if they sign the Halloween Safety Contract attached to Domino’s pizza boxes. This asks children to promise that when they’re trick-or-treating they’ll wear a reflective device, follow street safety guidelines and wait for their parents to check their treats out before eating them. Last August we reported that Quaker Oats and Rhone-Poulenc Food Ingredients had developed Oatrim, a fat substitute used in baking and prepared foods, “made from oat flowers.” That turns out to be oat flour , and come to think of it, it might explain why they were talking about Oatrim reducing cholesterol. Sorry.
It’s a Delicate, Fruity Beer That Pairs Well With the Lighter Fudges
Hops, hops, always with the hops. In the Middle Ages, though, people flavored beer with all sorts of things--juniper berries, oregano (in Italy), even pine needles. Some Belgians still doctor their native beer ( lambic ) with coriander, orange peel, cherries and so on. They claim a raspberry-flavored framboise lambic is the best beer to drink with chocolate.
